Mark Olly - Lost Treasures

Last night was the West Kirby Metal Detecting Club's monthly meeting.

The guest speaker was Mark Olly, Archaeologist & Historian and Creator of tv series Lost Treasures. Very interesting talk on some of the history of North West England. He covered a few topics including the Roman Helmet discovered in Cumbria and sold by Sotheby's for £2m 
It was found by a detectorist and was in 65 pieces when found - restored and absolutely beautiful!!!
