Body found near Lehigh Canal by metal detector user

A recreational metal detector user discovered a man's body Tuesday north of the Lehigh Canal towpath in Bethlehem Township, according to Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek.

The man's identity and cause and manner of death remained pending further investigation, Lysek said.

The discovery was reported Tuesday afternoon in a remote area along the Lehigh River in the area of the 3800 block of Wilson Avenue in the township, according to the coroner.
