This is the moment a stunned newly-wed was reunited with her lost engagement ring after it was found in the sea three months after it disappeared.

The white gold, diamond-set ring was miraculously returned to them at their home in Stewarton , Scotland, after it was picked up by a metal detectorist in waters surrounding El Arenal beach, Jávea, Spain.

Christie and Calum Campbell were devastated when the precious jewellery, specially designed by Calum for his now-wife, went missing at El Arenal during a family holiday in May this year.

Calum, 24, and cousin Stuart Campbell had searched the packed strand for hours to no avail, with Stuart leaving contact details with a local metal detecting enthusiast in case he ever unearthed the sentimental item.

With hope of ever finding it dashed, Stuart received a shock email three months later with the amazing news that Christie's treasured ring had been found.

And the return of the irreplaceable item was a heart-warming surprise for Christie and Calum - just two months before they got hitched.

Christie, 22, from Stewarton, said: "Stuart just said 'we've got something for you,' and I thought it was something for the wedding. I had no idea what it was.
