Regarding Westwood Ho beach ....

Bounce this message around in regards to detecting on westward Ho beach...this is the reply from Torridge Council..............
This  department does not deal with the licensing of metal detectors however I  have spoken to our property team who are responsible for Torridge  District Council land and this  is the response.
'We  do not give approval for 'metal detecting' on TDC land and it is not  therefore permitted. We prefer that any artefacts are left in context  and not dug up. The beach and foreshore  is leased to TDC by the Crown and we take the same stance here also.'
