'Significant' archaeological finds reveal housing site at The Josselyns, Trimley St Mary, may have been homes thousands of years ago



Archaeologists are to request a full excavation of a field where developers want to build 98 homes after finding evidence of landscape features dating back to prehistory.

Around 30 exploratory trenches have been opened up on the land between The Josselyns and Thurmans Lane, Trimley St Mary.

Residents who are fighting Bloor Homes' plans for the site have been heartened by the discoveries - and are hoping the archaeologists' reports of "significant finds" could halt or delay the homes project.
