Gazette readers of a certain age who recall the months of confusion following the 1971 changeover to decimal coinage should spare a thought for their ancestors of 700 years ago. For them, it wasn't a relatively simple task of working out that the old tanner was now two-and-a-half new pence or 10 bob was now 50p. ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads Tails!
