Nowadays when we think of London we picture a vibrant, exciting city, buzzing with people. We rarely stop to think about what's underneath the streets that are now lined with black cabs, Boris bikes and thousands of both tourists and workers.

Excavations undertaken by the Museum of London Archaeology [MOLA] at the Tune Hotel Liverpool Street site on Folgate Street, have brought to light a small but fascinating assemblage of artefacts that shed light on the lives and habits of the inhabitants of this now fashionable district of London during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
