Archaeologists are set to descend on Wirral's Woodchurch estate - to uncover the area's Norman Conquest past.

A team will descend upon Woodchurch primary school, which opened its doors as a school 350 years ago, to uncover the estate's hidden history.

While the vast majority of the Woodchuch Estate was constructed in the 1950s, it still retains a medieval village core, with the earliest reference to Woodchurch found in the Domesday Book of 1087.
