A startling 7,000-year-old find stopped beachcombers in their tracks.

Visitors to Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership's Beachcombing Festival yesterday (Sunday) were scouring the tideline for shells and seaweed on Crosby Beach when guest Barbara Snowball noticed an unusual piece of stone amongst the flotsam and jetsam.
